During an unplanned dinner outing in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday evening, former President Donald Trump faced intense backlash from a furious crowd as he arrived at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab.
As Trump’s motorcade pulled up outside the upscale restaurant, dozens of protesters had already gathered, anticipating his arrival. Videos circulating on social media captured the moment Trump exited his vehicle, surrounded by Secret Service agents, only to be met with a loud wave of boos and shouts from the onlookers. In one clip, a woman can be heard yelling an expletive directed at Trump.
Despite the chaos, Trump briefly stopped to speak with reporters outside the restaurant. He defended his recent actions in Washington, highlighting his deployment of National Guard troops and federal agents to address rising crime rates in the city.
It’s unusual for Trump to dine publicly in the capital, as he typically avoids such outings during his stays. However, this visit appeared tied to his push to promote the federal government’s increased involvement in city policing efforts.
Trump’s motorcade traveled only a short distance to reach the restaurant on 15th Street, where the atmosphere remained tense amid heightened public scrutiny of his policies.
When asked about a recent attack in the city, Trump stated that he had not been informed about it beforehand. “I’ll be giving a full statement tomorrow,” he told reporters. “But I will say this — I’m very unhappy about it. Extremely unhappy about every aspect.”
While Trump attempted to shift the focus toward his public safety initiatives, the evening ultimately drew more attention for the loud display of anger directed at him by D.C. residents.
