President Donald Trump was slammed by multiple online users and was called “a disgrace to humanity” after releasing a statement regarding a woman who was shot and killed in Minneapolis by an ICE agent.
“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” the president wrote on his Truth Social site on Wednesday. “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”
“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital,” he added. “The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis.”
Trump concluded his statement by saying, “They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE.” He finished. “We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
“You are a horrible disgusting disgrace to humanity,” one person commented. A second person commented that Trump is “never going to admit to doing anything wrong. Ever.”
“He believes that people no longer believe what they see with their own eyes- only his,” a third person said. “It is a cult.”
Other social media users sided with the president and his statement. “When law enforcement tells you to stop repeatedly you STOP,” one person commented.
“This isn’t new, we learn this in elementary school,” they added. “This kind of s— doesn’t need to happen.”
“Glad to see the ICE Officer survived,” a third person added. “Great training. Thank you ICE Officer, please recover quickly. GO MAGA!”
Chaos in the streets
The full details surrounding the events are still being determined; however, it is known that agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement allegedly shot and killed a 37-year-old woman in the head as she attempted to flee the scene of a raid in her car. Police have yet to release the woman’s name.
The Department of Homeland Security claimed the woman “weaponized her vehicle” and branded the incident an “act of domestic terrorism.” In a statement, they wrote, “Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.”
“An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots,” they added. According to DHS, the officer in question “used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased.”
DHS commented that the injured officers will make a full recovery. “This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement, who are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats,” DHS added.
“This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available,” the agency finished.
Frey’s fiery statement
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey held a press conference earlier in the day, where he had a few choice words for the agency. “There’s little I can say, again, that’ll make this situation better,” he said, barely controlling his temper.
“But I do have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE.” He added, “To ICE, get the f— out of Minneapolis.”
“They are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust,” Frey said. “They’re ripping families apart. They’re sowing chaos on our streets and in this case quite literally killing people.”
“They are already trying to spin this as an act of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bull—t,” Frey added.
