A charging document from prosecutors has revealed new details about Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect arrested for the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Robinson was charged with aggravated murder, weapons offenses, and obstruction of justice. He was arrested after a two-day manhunt following Kirk’s death at Utah Valley University.

Texts between Robinson and his roommate are included in the case. Robinson allegedly left a note under his keyboard that read, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.” He also wrote, “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” and admitted, “I am, I’m sorry,” when asked if he was the shooter.

The documents state Robinson planned the attack for more than a week. After sending the incriminating texts, he told his roommate to delete their exchange. Investigators also found that the bullet that killed Kirk narrowly missed others nearby, including an audience member. A rooftop was identified as the likely firing point, with markings in the gravel showing where someone had laid down to shoot.

At Robinson’s home, prosecutors discovered targets with bullet holes and shell casings. The casings carried etchings matching those from the rifle used in the attack, including references to fascism, internet memes, and video games. One charge also cites a violent offense committed in the presence of a child, noting a child under 14 was near the scene when Kirk was shot.
